Sincere question: Is the second half of your assertion that U.S. government is directing/coordinating the conduct of the Israeli military or that their lack of action makes them makes them equally culpable/complicit in said actions?
I couldn't agree more. As a recovering BOFH currently working on something like what the author describes as a platform team... the amount of times I've had developers bemoan the sentinel and other guardrails in place while unwilling to accept responsibility to meet the requirements of the various regulators and stakeholders is very discouraging.
I ultimately agree with you, but in between a raspberry pi and “hefty bills CDNs” is something like a half rack at a Colo, a f5, and a couple PowerEdges.
This might have more to do with the glut of off-lease corporate ThinkPads being available at very competitive pricing for FOSS developers to pick up rather than any indication of Lenovo's commitment to FOSS.

I’ve often wondered if the support is better if one is on the “correct”side of the Atlantic.
At a minimum, one would have the benefit of having time zone alignment with Engineering staff.
“We’re waiting for Engineering in Germany to get back to us.” is a common refrain.
